Children’s video guide
Resources selected through BPC’s documented editorial review for age relevance, content quality and suitability for their intended use. Watching together, for a short planned time, followed by an offline activity, is what we recommend.
Our first reviewed list is in preparation
No videos have completed our editorial review yet, so none are listed. We’d rather show nothing than show something we haven’t checked.
Under 2? We suggest offline play instead
The WHO recommends no sedentary screen time for children under 2 (the American Academy of Pediatrics treats video calls with family as an exception). These offline ideas suit this age well:
- Board books with large, clear pictures — point and name together
- Caregiver-led songs and rhymes in your home language
- Sensory play: water, textures, safe household objects (always supervised)
- Everyday conversation — describe what you are doing as you cook, fold or walk
- Simple household activities: stacking katoris, posting pegs into a box
How we review
Every resource is scored on:
- • Age suitability
- • Content accuracy
- • Pacing and sensory load
- • Safety and respect
- • Learning purpose
- • Low commercial exposure
- • Value for watching together
Each entry records the creator, source, permission status, reviewer, review date and next review date. Resources are removed if they change or if a concern is confirmed.
About the YouTube player: videos play in YouTube’s own player, loaded only when you press play. YouTube controls parts of that player, so ads and suggested videos may still appear. This guide is free and open to everyone — it is not sold as part of the BPC membership. BPC does not claim any external “child-safe” certification.
